I just found out that this guy I knew in high school died recently in a car accident. He wasn't a close friend or anything... but we went to the same public school and then the same high school. He was probably around my age, and the accident wasn't too far from where I live.
It's events like these that make you realize how short and unpredictable life can be. It's always hard to imagine this happening to ourselves, almost like we have some sort of immunity. It's also unfortunate that something like this has to happen inorder for us to get a wake up call and assess the direction our life is heading in.
