Alhumdullilah.
I almost got into a serious car accident just now on my way back from work.
I was driving eastbound on 14th ave. and this guy was coming out of a plaza on the right. Apparently, he was only looking at the westbound traffic and didn't see my car.
I honked. Slammed my brakes. Swerved my car sharply to the right. Came within about 6 inches of him. Swerved sharply back to the left to avoid skidding out of control. Had I not been able to react quickly and if there was even a little bit of snow on the road, I would have hit him at 70 km/h on the left side of his car and totalled both our vehicles.
Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billah.

Must be your mum's duas...but glad you're fine.
I had one and it was horrible. Not in terms of damage but in terms of the impact on my brain. It was really scary
my question:
(not to you, but in general.. to anyone. and they don't have to answer it... just ponder over it)
when you find yourself in a situation like this, where is the first place that your heart/mind turns? (after, ofcourse, you've done what you can to avoid the accident)
Subhanallah! Kinda like a miracle! Just goes to show that everything is in Allah's hands. Sometimes we might think, oh man death is a second away, but Allah has written something else, so that thing won't happen.
If I was in a situation like yours (and I've been in similar ones alot of times) the first thing on my mind and tongue would be, "Ya Allah"....There's absolutely no one else that can save you besides Him.
Alhamdulillah, that you are safe and well! And its great that you actually ponder over the things that happen in life! There are soo many who just let it by without giving it any thought..
Its like Tawakkul...Trust in Allah. Sometimes there is absolutely nothing you can do!!! And it depends on your faith. If you strongly believe that nothing can harm you if Allah wants to protect to you, then you're sorted!!!
That's definitely scary. But Alhamdulillah you're not dead or seriously injured. errr...okay, scrap that last sentence and replace it with: "Alhamdulillah"
gaah.
one of the brs in our islamic society had a horrific accident just last wk - head-on collision with a lorry on the motorway - he broke his nose, arm & had to be all stitched up, but alhamdulillah no long-term damage. the doctors kept telling him he was lucky to come out alive - alhamdulillah, really makes u stop & count ur blessings...
